There are a number of small local shops along the main Pantai Balangan Road.
The nearest supermarket is Nirmala which is 0.8km away next to Dapur Kitchen and Yakurus Warung.
There is a bigger Nirmala store at the other end of Balangan (on the junction with the main Ungasan Road) where you can find fresh meat and fish as well as a small selection of bread.
For more Western products, try the Pepito store on the main Ungasan Road.
Next to the Pepito store is Ampara local market where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables.
There are so many options when it comes to food and drink in this area. Most places are located around the Bingin and Uluwatu areas along the main road.
Some of our favourites are:
Analog - 1970’s inspired surf shop, cafe and restaurant serving good coffee and food. It has a great vibe, 70’s soundtrack and unique feel, the garden area is beautifully shaded by a large palm tree
Ulu Artisan - locations in both Ungasan and Uluwatu - Get there early for breakfast as they have been known to sell out by midday
Suka - opposite entrance to Thomas beach, great place for brunch
La Terrazza - if you head over to Uluwatu beach for its beautiful sunset, try a pizza in this italian terrace with sea views
Mason - if you fancy something a bit more special, Masons has great food, lighting and atmosphere
Ulu Cliffhouse - beach bar/club built into the cliff face, great place to watch the sunset and enjoy music and cocktails
